If you’re planning to hunt in Montana this season, mark your calendar. The deadline to apply for several special hunting licenses is June 1, 2025, by 11:45 p.m. MST. Miss it, and you’re out for the draw.

Licenses with a June 1 Deadline:
- Antelope (Special Drawing)
This tag’s in high demand. Applications are due June 1, with the drawing held in early August. - Deer B License (Resident and Nonresident)
Whether you’re filling the freezer or chasing a management hunt, this one’s awarded through a special draw. Applications close June 1. Drawing happens mid-June. - Elk B License (Resident and Nonresident)
Like the Deer B, this tag is drawn mid-June. Application deadline: June 1. - Sandhill Crane (Special Drawing)
Apps open May 1 and close June 1. The drawing takes place mid-June. - Swan (Special Drawing)
Same as Sandhill—open May 1, close June 1, draw mid-June.
How to Apply
Applications are done online through the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks licensing system. Double-check your choices, unit numbers, and any bonus points before submitting.
Set a reminder, and don’t wait till the last minute. System slowdowns on deadline day are real, and the window slams shut at 11:45 p.m. sharp.
