Montana Draw Results Are In: Moose, Sheep, Goat and Bison Applicants Can Check Now — More Key Deadlines Ahead

See what you can hunt at your location in the Hunterizer Seasons app.

Montana hunters waiting on some of the most sought-after tags in the West can finally check their results.

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has released the 2026 drawing results for moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goat and bison licenses, giving successful applicants their shot at some of the state’s most coveted hunts. Results can be checked through MyFWP’s draw lookup portal or by logging into a hunter account.

For many hunters, these are true bucket-list tags. Montana’s moose, sheep, goat and bison licenses are among the hardest to draw, with years of bonus point accumulation often behind a successful application.

But if you didn’t draw, the Montana application calendar is far from over.

Next Major Montana Hunting Deadlines

June 1, 2026 — Elk B, Deer B and Antelope Applications

Montana’s next big deadline is approaching fast. Hunters still have until 11:45 p.m. MST on June 1 to apply for:

  • Elk B licenses
  • Deer B licenses
  • Antelope licenses
  • Sandhill crane permits

These applications are available through Montana FWP’s licensing system.

June 30–July 7 — Nonresident Alternate Lists
Nonresident hunters who missed out on combo licenses should watch the alternate list windows for chances at returned tags.

July 22 — Limited Mountain Lion Applications
Montana’s limited mountain lion draw opens later this summer, with applications due in late July.

September 30 — Bonus Point Purchase Deadline
Hunters looking ahead to future years can still buy bonus points for eligible species before the fall deadline.

Montana 2026 Seasons Are Taking Shape

Montana’s 2026 hunting calendar is already moving quickly. General big game draw results were released earlier this spring, and now the once-in-a-lifetime species draws are complete. That means hunters can start shifting from application season into scouting season.

For successful moose, sheep, goat and bison applicants, now is the time to study district regulations, access options, weapon restrictions and mandatory orientation requirements—especially for bison hunters, who face unique hunt logistics and reporting rules.

Montana remains one of the most opportunity-rich hunting states in the West, but keeping track of deadlines, species-specific rules and changing regulations can be a challenge.

That’s where the Hunterizer app helps Montana hunters quickly see what’s open, where, and under what rules—without digging through multiple regulation booklets.
