DNR Announces Sharp-Tailed Grouse Hunting Season For Fall 2025

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has announced a sharp-tailed grouse hunting season for fall 2025, the first since 2018, running from October 18 to November 9. The decision follows a recovery in the grouse population, attributed to habitat restoration efforts, allowing for a limited harvest after years of conservation work. An application period for a lottery entry will be open from June 30 to August 1, with previous preference points honored.
