Why hunters buy this instead of the free PGC maps

Pennsylvania’s official WMU maps show zone boundaries — and that’s about it. They do not tell you which public parcels you can actually hunt on. We do.

We plotted every public land parcel in Pennsylvania and divided them into two categories:

• Huntable public land — State Game Lands, National Forests, and other parcels open to hunting, shown in green
• Non-huntable public land — State Parks, State Forests with restrictions, and other off-limits areas, shown separately so you don’t accidentally trespass or waste a trip

This distinction is not available anywhere on the PA Game Commission website, DCNR, or any free government source. It’s the difference between showing up somewhere legal and wasting a drive.
