Parker McCollum Gears Up for Deer Hunting Season

This weekend is shaping up to be a tough one for deer on Parker McCollum’s Texas ranch. The singer, known for his hit “What Kinda Man,” recently visited Taste of Country Nights, where host Evan Paul inquired about his readiness for the upcoming deer hunting season, which kicks off on November 1 in Texas.

“Man, I’m ready. I’ve done everything and spent way too much money on stuff that I don’t need and already had 10 of. Come Saturday morning, I’m a deer hunter again,” McCollum expressed with enthusiasm.

Fresh off his 2025 What Kinda Man Tour, McCollum is thrilled to be back home with his family and is eager to hit the woods with his friends for some hunting.

When asked about his wife, Hallie Ray, and their son, Major, he shared that they are “never been better.”

“Of course, he’s a wild animal. He’s 15 months and he’s out of his freakin’ mind. He’s great and Hallie Ray is great,” McCollum said, clearly proud of his family.

“She is built to be a mom. She is just as good as God makes ’em, so I count my blessings every day,” he added.

As for his music career, “What Kinda Man” is on track to become another No. 1 hit for McCollum. If it reaches the top of the charts, it will mark his fourth No. 1 song at country radio.
