Missing Selma Hunter Ronald Dailey Found After Intense Search in Fresno County

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — Ronald Dailey, a 65-year-old hunter, has been located after going missing during a solo deer hunting trip near Shaver Lake. His family confirmed the news of his safe return.

Dailey was reported missing on October 13th when he failed to return from his hunting excursion in the Shaver Lake and Courtright Reservoir area of Fresno County. His wife, Glenda Dailey, shared the update on Facebook Saturday evening, which was later echoed by Fresno County Supervisor Nathan Magsig.

According to the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, Dailey was found alive on the Swamp Lake Trail. His current condition remains unclear.

The search involved teams from various counties across California, including Fresno, Madera, Kern, and Calaveras. The California Office of Emergency Services also contributed to the effort by providing surveillance aircraft and drones.

Prior to Dailey’s discovery, authorities had urged the public to refrain from entering closed areas, warning that uncoordinated searches could complicate the efforts of trained rescue teams.
